Safety Program
Step
1
The Towing
Safety Program begins with a one (1) day Comprehensive
Safety & Compliance Review of your entire company including
the trucks, buildings, lots, office & shop areas as well as
reviewing DOT record — keeping and regulatory compliance
issues. The review focuses on;
•
OSHA safety concerns; injury & fire hazards
bloodborne pathogens etc.
•
DOT compliance issues; driver files log
books drug & alcohol testing etc.
•
EPA disposal issues; waste oil and fluid storage
filter & oil disposal etc.
Step
2
The second step
of this Towing Safety Program focuses on training the driver.
Midwest Fleet Safety will prepare and present an on-site
driver safety meeting at your facility. The meeting introduces and
reviews an important safety topic from three (3) subject areas;
•
Defensive Driving; safety following distance, backing
skills, turns & merges, etc.
•
Towing; safety chains, roadside safety, care & use
of towing equipment, etc.
•
Operator Skills; driver attitude, customer service, injurury
prevention, etc.
Step
3
During the third
phase of the Towing Safety Program, your towing company
will choose an employee to participate in a 2-day Safety Instructor
Training Program. Upon completion, your safety instructor will
return with the knowledge and confidence to prepare their own towing
safety program at your towing company.
